What is a barcamp?

A barcamp, sometimes called an unconference, is defined by the fact that there’s no pre-set programme. Instead, everyone present can contribute their experience, knowledge and ideas by proposing sessions. Sessions can take many different formats – beyond “traditional” talks, they can be discussion rounds, creative workshops, collaborative coding sessions, and much more.

In the broadest sense, sessions are comparable to talk slots at conferences. But they can take very different formats. Beyond “traditional” presentations, sessions can also be discussion rounds, creative workshops, collaborative coding sessions, and much more.

A brilliant format is the so-called Ask-Session. Instead of presenting knowledge yourself, you pose questions. For example: “What makes a good prompt?” or “What experiences have you had with different LLMs like Mistral, Gemini, Claude, etc.?” The attendees then provide the answers. This often leads to many follow-up questions and lively exchange.

A session lasts 45 minutes.

This time AI Camp runs for two days: Thursday, 24, and Friday, 25 September. We’re responding to what participants told us: one day is too short, we’d like to dig deeper into topics on a second day.

Both days are a full AI Camp with AI sessions, and the schedule is the same on each. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., and we wrap up around 5 p.m.

Every day can be booked separately. If you want both, just add both day tickets to your cart — there’s no combined two-day ticket.

At the AI Camp, the focus is on artificial intelligence and everything that comes with it.

On top of that, we’re running an IT Security track on Friday, 25 September. It’s a dedicated slot with sessions on IT security topics, not a separate event. More on that below under Tickets.

No. The sessions thrive on open exchange, so we don’t record them. What you share stays in the room.

Tickets

Tickets for the AI Camp Würzburg on 24–25 September are available at our ticket shop.

For AI Camp you book a regular day ticket, one per day. That gets you into all sessions, including the IT Security track on Friday.

The separate IT Security ticket category is meant for people who are deep in the topic and coming specifically for Friday. For everyone else, the regular ticket is the right one. Get your ticket.

Because AI and security belong together — and because we want to give security people a room of their own, where they can talk shop with each other instead of mostly answering the basics.

That’s exactly what Friday’s dedicated room creates: expert exchange among equals. The sessions are open to all participants, just as IT Security ticket holders can join the AI Camp sessions.

For anyone who works with IT security professionally. Coming from the AI world without a security background? Then book a regular AI Camp ticket — you can still attend the security sessions.

No, but you can transfer a ticket to another person. Please let us know so we can consider this at the entrance.

Sales close on Tuesday, 22 September at the latest — though tickets are usually gone well before then.

Entry, hot and cold drinks, a hot lunch, plus snacks in the morning and afternoon.

This applies to the conference-price tickets only. Their pricing at the AI Camp is calculated tightly, so we can’t offer additional volume discounts.

Yes. During checkout you can enter a billing address, including your employer’s. You’ll automatically receive an invoice with VAT shown, by email.

Yes, you can select this option when you buy your ticket.

The venue for the AI Camp is the
